Hands down some of the best wine I have had. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Their Jacks Cabin Zin was just incredible. Ask about their history, it’s a great story of a family owned winery. I will be back.

Lovely place with amazing people passionate about their wine. We felt welcomed here. The winery has a wide range of options in Rockpile AVA, which we considered quite complex and delicious, and their Dry Creek wines are beautifully made and approachable.

This winery and wine tasting experience is the best in Sonoma/Napa region (even though we only visited 6 wineries during our weekend visit of June 8-9)! As soon as we entered the winery, our gracious host, Doug, greeted us and welcomed us as if we were family! We tried such a variety of wines from white, to rose, to red and they were all soo delicious! I believe we were supposed to technically have only 5 different wine samples, but as we engaged into the tasting, Doug could quickly pick up what each of us liked and catered to us even more wine samples. Doug did a wonderful job explaining the history of the winery, its founders, details of the different grapes and growing conditions. Heck, he even brought out 2 different jars of soils so that we could see how much of a difference it has on the grapes and ultimately wine flavor profile. Me being a civil engineer, I just lit up when I saw the soils and got the chance to analyze it. I promise not to get enginerdy in my post but this was soo cool! Thank you Doug for the lunch recommendation at Dry Creek General Store and their delicious sandwiches! Sincerely, your friends from Tarnow, Poland.

On Oct 22nd a group of 6 of us had a great guided tour and tasting at the Rockpile Vineyard led by Carrie Mauritson. As she drove us out to the vineyard she gave us a nice history of the winery and the vineyard. Due to windy conditions we had to move the tasting from the top of the mountain down to Jacks Cabin. Still a spectacular view and a nice place to have an outdoor tasting. The wines we tasted were awesome. Carrie spent a lot of time with us answering all of our questions and explaining each wine. We tasted six wonderful wines which included rose, zinfindel, malbec and cabernet sauvignon. The highlight for me was the 2016 Madrone Spring. This was one of the most laid back and best tasting experiences we have ever had and given the opportunity will revisit the next time I make a visit to the area.

We met our son and his family here, but we arrived a good 45 min. before they arrived. The somelier who poured our tasting flights was super friendly and also uber knowledgeable of all the wines and soil types of Mauritson's different varietals wines. Our friendly wine guide told us Mauritson owned 9 different tracts of land where they have their vineyards. Each type of soil favors a certain type of wine grape. He immersed me in the whole wine-making process-more info than I could even digest. He also wasn't shy about loading our glasses during the tastings. We bought a couple bottles of Zinfandel here, ones that pleased our palettes most-but we liked all the Mauritson wines. By the time my son & his family arrived, we were feelin' pretty good! We then watched the grand kids, while my son & his wife did their tastings. Our young grandsons raced around the huge grass lawn out in front of the Mauritson Tasting Room Building. Great wines, and super friendly folks behind the counter. My wife and I loved this place, as did my son & his wife.
