Have not been for a while but liked the changes. I was expecting the food to be like wild pork and venison but there was fish and lamb. The mustard sauce on the steak was a little strong. We had a lovely time on our anniversary so all good just can you add something “hunting” related.

Thank you for a lovely experience celebrating our daughters 40th birthday on 25th. Honestly we really tested you by not knowing I had booked the restaurant not the lawn bar although I know I selected option 1 on your booking system on the phone. Then when we arrived we were inside, the music was very loud, not our taste so we asked to sit outside, I'm sure you wanted to say something to us and I wouldn't of blamed you at all, but it was done seamlessly, we transferred outside and had a wonderful time. Next time I will remember to specify where we want to be. Thank you to your fabulous staff, they were exceptional, the food was delicious. We will be back.

We brought our overseas friends from California to enjoy our favourite local winery- The Lawn Bar - and they were delighted with the great food (lamb wrap, antipasto & cheese board, halloumi salad and must have shoestring fries with truffle aioli), delicious wine varieties (they had two different wine tasting paddles) and fabulous service. John and his team create such a welcoming and positive environment. We are proud to show our friends what we think is the best of Kiwi hospitality at The Lawn Bar. Great experience every time. Thanks John & team!! See you again soon.

We often visit the hunting lodge with a group to celebrate birthdays, or just because. We love the atmosphere of the garden bar, and the friendly staff who are always so good with our big groups. The food is exquisite – so simple but so perfectly done. We specially recommend the burgers, toasted sandwiches, and chocolate brownie. The wine is exquisite, and I also love the great selection of non-alcoholic drinks. It's always a lovely day out at the Hunting Lodge. A real hidden gem in Auckland.
