The guided tour of Vigna di Pettineo begins with a walk through the lush and organic vineyards. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the olive grove and the orchard that surround the vineyards. During the walk the production staff will explain all the agricultural and winemaking practices they use during the cultivation of the vines. You will also have the opportunity to visit their historic cellar, where you can explore the wooden barrels for aging the wine.
You can also discover the Kitchen House, an equipped structure where you can learn how to cook Sicilian dishes. The tour ends with a tasting of delicious wines from their collection in the beautiful location of a villa. They usually combine a typical Sicilian lunch with wine tasting.

October 12, 2023: Tour, lunch, and tasting of high-quality organic wines. A wonderful day full of passion for wine! Grillo Superiore, Frappato, Nero D'Avola, and Cerasuolo di Vittoria with intense colors, flavors, and aromas. With a respectable location and an excellent lunch, the Maggios live up to their reputation as friendly, attentive, knowledgeable owners and supporters of ecologically sustainable agriculture.

We spent an incredible 2+hours at this wonderful winery in mid-September. Due to a miscommunication on my part, we arrived more than 2 hours before we were expected. They gave us some water, had us sit in a lovely room with couches, a fireplace, and opera music playing, and put together an amazing “light lunch!” to go with the tasting. Look at the picture of the spread of food for just the 2 of us! And more came out after the picture was taken! We met the 4th generation wine maker (in the picture with us), their knowledgeable somm, and an excellent translator for the trickier explanations. The wines were absolutely delicious! We had their Grillo, Frappata, Cerusuela di Vittoria (a DOCG), and Nero d’Avola. We loved them all! But later in the trip a restaurant had them on their wine menu, and we chose to get the Nero d’Avola with our dinner, so I guess that was our favorite. We highly recommend that you visit the Vigna di Pettineo and enjoy their fabulous wines!
