Château Sainte Barbe is a remarkable winery steeped in the rich history of Bordeaux wines. Nestled along the banks of the Garonne River, this estate is surrounded by 130 hectares of serene woods and meadows, providing a peaceful retreat just 25 minutes from the city. The oceanic climate of Bordeaux, characterized by mild, rainy winters and warm summers, is enhanced by the Garonne, which creates a unique microclimate. This body of water moderates temperatures, ensuring optimal conditions for grape growing throughout the year.
Spanning 28 hectares, the vineyard at Château Sainte Barbe primarily features 85% Merlot, with the remaining 15% comprising Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. As a certified High Environmental Value (HVE) estate, we prioritize the health of our vines to produce high-quality grapes. Our wines reflect the distinctive characteristics of this lesser-known peninsula while maintaining an excellent quality-to-price ratio. What an incredible experience! An amazing tour with a wonderfully knowledgable tour guide whose English was fantastic! The wine blending was great fun and really informative! My wife and I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend to anyone!

We visited a few weeks ago and everything was perfect. The chateau is small but very pretty and the setting (on the banks of the Garonne) is spectacular. The visit was very pleasant and we were able to try several wines. Highly recommended!!

Beautifully situated wine chateau with a very friendly wine seller and spontaneous tasting! He took a lot of time and told us a bit about the different types of wine. We'll be happy to come back if we're in the area again.
