A Legacy of Winemaking Since 1650
Bordeaux Based Winery
Château Sainte Barbe is a remarkable winery steeped in the rich history of Bordeaux wines. Nestled along the banks of the Garonne River, this estate is surrounded by 130 hectares of serene woods and meadows, providing a peaceful retreat just 25 minutes from the city. The oceanic climate of Bordeaux, characterized by mild, rainy winters and warm summers, is enhanced by the Garonne, which creates a unique microclimate. This body of water moderates temperatures, ensuring optimal conditions for grape growing throughout the year.
The Grape Varieties of Château Sainte Barbe
Spanning 28 hectares, the vineyard at Château Sainte Barbe primarily features 85% Merlot, with the remaining 15% comprising Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. As a certified High Environmental Value (HVE) estate, we prioritize the health of our vines to produce high-quality grapes. Our wines reflect the distinctive characteristics of this lesser-known peninsula while maintaining an excellent quality-to-price ratio. We are committed to offering authentic local wines that showcase the unique terroir of Bordeaux.
