Since its first Vintage Port release in 1840, Fonseca has established a remarkable legacy in winemaking. The winery has consistently produced highly regarded wines, even during challenging historical periods.

James Suckling, a respected authority on Vintage Port, noted: 'The vintage Ports of Fonseca are perhaps the most consistently great of them all. Not only do they have a striking fleshiness and powerful richness when young, but they retain that youthfulness for decades.'

This remarkable consistency stems from the family's ongoing involvement and the expertise passed down through generations. Fonseca's three estates—Cruzeiro, Panascal, and Santo António—are integral to the unique character of its Vintage Ports.
