Noah of Areni/NOA- Founded by one of the Most Renowned and Oldest Wine Houses in Switzerland
In the Areni region in Armenia, Noah of Areni/NOA winery was established by one of the most renowned and oldest wine houses in Switzerland – St. Jakobskellerei Schuler & Cie AG Schwyz. In 2013, Mr. Jakob Schuler, the head of the company, set out to discover the origins of the wine culture and traveled to the Caucasus. Thus, after several meetings, visits, and tastings in Armenia, Schuler decided to establish a winery in Vayots Dzor province. In 2017, the Company bought two vineyards in Rind and Aghavnadzor which are today the best-managed vineyards in Armenia.
Experienced Oenologists in Armenia
One of the experienced oenologists in Armenia, Arman Manukyan, makes great NOA wines of exquisite vines from Areni region. He controls and manages the unique process of winemaking starting from growing grape to vinification in barrique barrels.
During the whole procedure of vinification, Noa does not accelerate the chemical and biological processes, letting Mother Nature do the magic of creating wine from the grapes.
The grape varieties produced are Areni and Voskehat. Noa produces red, white, rose and dessert wines from these grapes which are bottled for distribution after proper fermentation and maturation of the grapes in the cellars.
Tasting Areas
NOA winery has recently built country-style tasting areas in Rind and Aghavnadsor where the tourists and wine-lovers can taste Armenian national dishes and drink NOA. The fresh air of mountains, beautiful view to the vineyards and mountains, local hospitality, and the best wine can make your time immemorable.
