Exceptional Winemaking on Long Island's North Fork
Paumanok Winery: Crafting Quality Wines Since 1983
Founded in 1983, Paumanok Winery is a family-owned estate located on the picturesque North Fork of Long Island. The Massoud Family has dedicated themselves to producing high-quality wines that showcase the unique potential of New York's winemaking. Their philosophy emphasizes that only the healthiest, ripest grapes can create exceptional wines, with a strong commitment to quality at every step.
The Massoud Family's Vision
Charles and Ursula Massoud, along with their three sons, manage the winery, blending Old World traditions with modern techniques. Their state-of-the-art production facility features advanced equipment, including a fermentation room, lab, and a spacious tasting room for visitors. Paumanok's vineyards benefit from the Atlantic Ocean's climate influence, with ideal soil and rainfall conditions for vine cultivation.
With only 1,100 to 1,500 vines planted per acre, the winery ensures lower yields that result in grapes with intense aromas and complex flavors. The vineyard grows a variety of grapes, including Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot.
A Legacy of Quality and Recognition
At Paumanok Winery, the staff meticulously selects the finest grapes to produce a range of wines, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert options. Their commitment to quality has earned them numerous accolades, such as being featured in wine service at the White House and receiving the “Governor's Cup” and “Winery of the Year” award at the NY Wine Classic.
