High-Altitude Vineyards with Southern Exposure
Their vineyards are present at an altitude of around 750 meters with southern exposure in granite soils. This location helps Quinta dos Termos grow premium, ripe grapes. The temperature, land, and rainfall in the region make it perfect for vines’ growth and cultivation. Their sophisticated, organic, and sustainable methods preserve the health of their vines and the environment. All their vineyards are certified with Integrated Crop Management that makes ecological wines.
The Most Important Varieties at the Winery
The most important varieties of grapes grown at Quinta dos Termos are Touriga Nacional, Rufete, Trincadeira, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Syrah, Sangiovese, Fonte Cal, Síra, Arinto, and Riesling. The best grapes are used for making their world-class red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. Many of their grapes varietals are mainly indigenous from the Beira Interior, where one can find many grape types recovered by the Quinta dos Termos in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture I.S.A. Their wines have helped them win many awards, including a Silver Medal in the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards.
