A Brief History

The story of Vesterhave Vingaard began in 1997 when passionate winemaker Jesper Rye Jensen acquired an old farm at Vesterhavevej 204 in Karrebæksminde. Spanning 10 hectares, the original structure was replaced with a modern facility in 2002, allowing for better winemaking practices. Since then, the vineyard has flourished, growing alongside the vines and continuously improving its offerings.

Very nice little winery, with a lot of attention to detail, Ecovin and very nice to look at with audio guide in different languages. Good red wines, rather untypical for this area, but very good. Definitely worth a visit.

The visit was a fantastic experience. Very interesting and exciting story. Super concept around organic and sustainable wine and Danish red wine with such great taste. Jesper is extremely involved and transparent about his farm and techniques. A gem you must visit if you are interested in wine!

Vesterhave Vingård is a very inspiring place to visit. We have great respect for Jesper's determined commitment to the development of organic wine production in Denmark. And when it is as successful as we experienced at the last winemakers' dinner on 22 November, then it is the crowning glory. The vineyard is located just outside Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located close to the sea and has a lot of holistic and natural surroundings. The owners are very friendly and kind and introduced us to all their work and wines and made us feel very welcome. I would love to visit again in the future and stay here for a long time.
