The Story of Vinícola Don Affonso

The Gasperin family brings with it a history of hard work and dedication to the cultivation of grapes, carries in its blood the trajectory of struggle and perseverance, as well as religiosity and appreciation of the principles of life linked to family and work on the land. In this way, Affonso Gasperin, the grandson of the Italians Giácomo and Veronica Gasperin, who, in search of new opportunities, settled in the lands that today belong to the city of Caxias do Sul/RS, produced his wines for their own consumption from the cultivation of his grapes and the surplus he sold to his friends. The wine was appreciated by everyone and so, at the request of his friends and consumers, Affonso officially established the Gasperin Winery on July 13, 1982.

Viti Vínícola Don Affonso located in the traditional wine producing region of southern Brazil called Serra Gaúcha, in the city of Caxias do Sul, state of Rio Grande do Sul. With its own headquarters and modern facilities, it combines historical tradition with the most modern technologies of cultivation and winemaking, always respecting the principles of nature and sustainable production. Today managed by the third generation of winemakers of the Gasperin family, through the tireless work of the outstanding winemaker André Gasperin and his team, it has gained international prominence in winning awards in traditional and renowned wine competitions around the world. Always focusing on quality and sustainable production from its own vineyards and production technologies that value the local characteristics of soils, climates, and cultures in the relentless pursuit of the enological characterization of the traditional producing regions of Brazil.
