“Polluce” PGI Calabria red wine from Tenuta Dioscuri. Pollux is considered the son of Zeus and brother of Castor and Helen. The affection that unites them is so strong that when Castor dies Pollux, who is immortal, decides to die too. The Dioscuri were twins, even if their mother conceived them separately, uniting on the same night first with Zeus and then with the Spartan king Tyndareus. From the union with the god Pollux was born, who distinguished himself as a boxer in the Greek Olympics. Polluce wine is long-lived, fruity with hints of cherry, fresh, aromatic and harmonious.

GRAPES AND WINEMAKING:
GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION: Municipality of Bianco, Province of Reggio
Calabria
VARIETIES: GRAPES: 100% Syrah. The grapes are harvested manually, a
perfect phenolic maturation.
HARVEST TIME: First half of August
VINIFICATION: The grapes are destemmed and pressed properly
soft and subsequently fermented using
only the yeasts naturally present on the grapes, the
contact with the skins is approximately 15 days,
aged briefly in wood.
ORGANOLEPTIC EXAMINATION:
COLOR: Deep ruby red.
BOUQUET: Fruity with notes of cherry, currant and spicy hints of
background.
TASTE: It is a wine of great freshness and great harmony.
PAIRING: It goes well with tasty cold cuts and meats
grilled reds, game, smoked cheeses
and herbs.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18 – 20 °C
