How It All Started

The history of the estate begins in the early 1800s, Mr. Nicita Michele owner of the estate who bequeathed it to his son, cultivated the ancient grapes of Greece of the eighth century with great passion producing wines with intense and ample aromas, sweet flavors straight from Italy, a unique cataract of these wines.
This wine and these assets have been enhanced over time by the dedication of a family, giving the key to success from generation to generation, turning this passion into a thriving estate recognised nationally and internationally.

Unique Cellar

The estate has a special cellar located in the middle of the vineyards, which is actually a greenhouse created to dry the Greco di Bianco grapes, this greenhouse gives the grapes a better quality.
The Greco di Bianco wine is a world-renowned wine, highly appreciated in national and international competitions, it represents the “Made in Italy” wine.
The estate produces about 30,000 bottles per year of this wine with a protected designation and a long list of titles.

Dioscuri produces passito wines, including Greco di Bianco DOC and the white Mantonico passito IGT. Here you will find white, red and sparkling wines. Tradition is the watchword, the wine making is carried out during long periods of ageing in French oak barrels and terracotta pots.

Passito wine “Greco di Bianco” DOC Ares (Greek God of War) from Tenuta Dioscuri. It represents one of the ancient vines of Italy and is the fruit of the vine brought in the 7th century BC by the Greek colonists, who founded the first nucleus of what was later called Magna Graecia in the most extreme part of the Ionian coast of Calabria. It was once produced in those stone millstones, visible in the hills around Bianco. Even today, Greco di Bianco Doc is produced after drying the grapes on racks exclusively in the municipalities of Bianco and Casignana (RC). The wine, aged in barrique and bottled in a limited number, has a straw yellow colour, complex hints of dates and honey, walnuts and black pepper, almonds and apricot, an intense but also refreshing savory mouthfeel with an iodine finish mixed with mustard and caramelised figs.

“Polluce” PGI Calabria red wine from Tenuta Dioscuri. Pollux is considered the son of Zeus and brother of Castor and Helen. The affection that unites them is so strong that when Castor dies Pollux, who is immortal, decides to die too. The Dioscuri were twins, even if their mother conceived them separately, uniting on the same night first with Zeus and then with the Spartan king Tyndareus. From the union with the god Pollux was born, who distinguished himself as a boxer in the Greek Olympics. Polluce wine is long-lived, fruity with hints of cherry, fresh, aromatic and harmonious.

Passito white wine “Montonico” PGI Locride from Tenuta Dioscuri. The white Mantonico grapes seem to have arrived in Locris with the landing of the first Greek colonists in the 7th century BC. The name derives from the Greek mantonikos which means soothsayer, prophet. In fact, the wine obtained was used by the priests of ancient Locri Epizefiri to celebrate ceremonies. Wine with a characteristic amber colour, with hints of dried fruit and apricot and a strong and intense flavour.
