There are some good wineries on the Ahr. Jean Stodden is the best winery. The large plants do not have to shy away from comparison with the Pinot Noir from Burgundy. Alexander Stodden, the boss, is happy to take the time to offer advice and tastings. Every wine purchase here is an experience.

The Jean Stodden winery is one of the best wineries in Germany. The Große Gewächse Pinot Noir are highly recommended. The visit to the Ahr Valley for the autumn presentation was worth it.

The top address on the Ahr, modern wine shop, friendly welcome and high level of expertise. Great Pinot Noir with a clear style of high complexity, great intensity and considerable aging potential. The top wines from the Recher Herrenberg and the Mönchberg are particularly recommended, albeit at a corresponding price. What is unfortunately not a given is that the simpler wines are also treated with love and offer good value for money. The wines should be given enough time, as it is almost a crime to drink them too young.
