Discover Quinta da Grimpa, a family-run estate of about 5 hectares located in São João da Azenha, in the Bairrada region.

During your private visit, you will be welcomed by a family member for a private guided tour of the property. You will learn about the estate’s history, admire its distinctive architecture with finely worked stone details, and explore the private collections gathered by the family over the years.

The experience continues with a tasting of Quinta da Grimpa wines, including the estate’s signature Vinho Integral Chardonnay. Vinho Integral is the estate’s own low-intervention winemaking philosophy, focused on minimal handling and an honest expression of the grapes and terroir, without aggressive filtration or unnecessary manipulation.

This is a quiet and friendly visit, designed to introduce you to the work, history, and winemaking identity of Quinta da Grimpa.

Escolhi esta quinta para os festejos dos nossos 25 anos de casados, salão muito acolhedor com uma decoração muito agradável alusiva aos vinhos, jardim muito bem tratado e bonito!!! Recebidos como reis!!! Um serviço de catering 5 estelas servido pela caterfesta, não podia ter sido melhor!!!! Recomendo sem duvida!!!! Obrigado!!!!

We visited this March as part of a wine tour. Traveling from Belgium, the nine of us had made a reservation. We were welcomed by the patriarch in this beautiful building reminiscent of a hacienda. We began by touring the small vineyard surrounding the château: Chardonnay vines. A large table had been set for us in the central room. We tasted five wines: three Chardonnays from the estate (a very small production), a Pinot Noir, and a Baga, the latter two produced by acquaintances and friends. All the wines were excellent, particularly the 2020 Chardonnay and the 2016 Baga. While we drank, we were offered local goat cheese and bread. During our conversation with the owner and his son (who will eventually take over the estate), the owner told us about the history of Portuguese wines and even fetched a book on the subject, a copy made from the original. Very interesting. A great tasting experience that's a little off the beaten track.
