About Us
Quinta da Grimpa is a family estate of approximately 5 hectares, the result of four generations of dedication by the direct descendants of brothers Manuel and José Costa.
Located in São João d'Azenha, a small village along the Portuguese Camino de Santiago in the heart of Bairrada, it was founded by José Costa in the 1930s, continued by Luiz Costa who began building the house and cellar in 1971, now maintained by Manuel José Costa and João Luis Costa, who remain faithful to the original family ideal.
Integral Wine
Integral Wine is the ultimate expression of our minimal intervention philosophy. Born of absolute respect for the rhythm of nature, it is produced without any filtration or fining. This method privileges truth and simplicity, allowing the authentic expression of the grape varieties.
Camino de Santiago
The Camino de Santiago crosses our region, bringing centuries of history, sharing, and spirituality. Quinta da Grimpa, strategically situated along this ancient route, shares not only the land but also the spirit of hospitality that defines the pilgrims.
The scallop shell, the eternal symbol of the Camino, is also the emblem we proudly display in our identity. A profound connection that unites the tradition of Bairrada to one of the world's most emblematic journeys, celebrating human encounters and the slow passage of time.
