If you think exceptional red wine can’t be made in Denmark, Domaine Nyballe will completely change your mind. For over 20 years, the passionate owners have been proving exactly what is possible in cool-climate winemaking—and they have rightfully been awarded "Best Danish Red Wine" multiple times! This is micro-winemaking and true craftsmanship at its finest. From just about 500 vines across two sites—growing robust varieties like Leon Millot, Rondo, Regent, Castel, and Cabarat Noir—they focus entirely on quality. Each grape variety is fermented individually and masterfully blended into a cuvée later on. heir impressive portfolio features 52 wines. We had the pleasure of tasting three, and honestly? In a blind tasting, absolutely no one would guess these deep, characterful red wines come from Denmark. 🤫🍇 Whenever you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem to taste their wonderful wines for yourself. What a great wine experience! We had no idea such fantastic red wines were being made in Denmark. I worked in California Wine Country in the past, and these wines are easily thier equals. Just go, the wine maker is great, and he will give you a great tasting. Do this, you won't find better red wines anywhere near here!
