Guests are welcomed into the family home of DAF Wines in Dafnes, Crete, where the experience takes place in an intimate and welcoming winery setting. From the very first moment, you are not treated as a visitor, but as a guest of the family, embraced with the warmth and genuine hospitality that defines Cretan culture. In this relaxed and friendly atmosphere, you are invited to slow down, feel at home, and connect with the people and the story behind the wines before the tasting begins.

The wine tasting includes five handcrafted wines made exclusively from native Cretan grape varieties, offering a true journey through the diversity and character of Crete. Each wine is presented with its story, allowing guests to discover how the land, climate and tradition of Dafnes shape its flavour. The tasting is accompanied by a vegan Cretan platter, featuring local olives, extra virgin olive oil, cherry tomatoes and traditional rusks, carefully selected to enhance the wines and provide an authentic taste of the region.

We spent a wonderful afternoon here tasting wine. The owner, Fereniki, took a lot of time for us and told us a lot about the different indigenous wines. We were able to try excellent wines with cheese, olives and more. A great experience that I can only recommend to everyone! We will definitely be back!

We had the best experience! Lovely people, amazing wine and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended, we also came with a small child and they treated him very kindly. The Israelis who read treated us wonderfully, they really love the country and its people. Excellent wine, delicious food and all at a joke price. Highly recommended for those who want to treat themselves to a beautiful view, a homely and personal atmosphere.

If you are passing through Dafnes, you cannot miss a tasting at this exceptional winery. They have an excellent VIDIANO, but for our palate the TIERRA BLANCA is unbeatable because it combines Vidiano and local Moscato in an excellent way. We preferred to try the white wines, but the winery also offers reds and rosés. During the tasting, the owner explained to us in detail the origin of the vines and the production methods. So good, we tasted a few wines and we had a pairing session with some cheese, almonds, but also a lot of local Greek food. Amazing. If you have to go to one place for tasting wine or real Greek food: this is it. Make a reservation on the website and go for it. It won’t disappoint you.

It was an incredibly great experience and an absolutely successful trip. It is a family-run winery in a small, nice place called Dafnes, surrounded by grape fields. You definitely get more than you expect from the wine tasting. They take a lot of time, a very friendly lady who tells you about the different wines and spirits. I can only recommend this place to anyone who spends a few days on Crete.
