A hidden picnic sanctuary awaits among the vineyards of DAF Wines, offering a refined yet authentic outdoor experience in the heart of the Cretan countryside.

Guests enjoy a gentle walk through sun-kissed vines, leading to a quiet picnic spot surrounded by nature and a sense of calm. Upon arrival, a private small table is set and a carefully prepared picnic basket is opened, featuring a Premium Dry White Wine, accompanied by a selection of traditional Cretan dishes.

Guests enjoy handmade dolmadakia, moussaka, a Greek salad, a selection of traditional cheeses paired with homemade jams, dakos with extra virgin olive oil, fresh tomato, feta cheese and oregano, as well as a traditional Cretan pie filled with wild greens and aromatic herbs.

A small table and a Bluetooth speaker are provided to complete the relaxed atmosphere.

The contents of the basket are presented and explained, offering insight into local ingredients and the way they are traditionally enjoyed in Crete. Guests relax under the natural shade of the vines, embracing the peaceful rhythm of the vineyard and the pleasure of sharing food and wine outdoors.

I recommend that everyone visits this beautiful winery! We had the most amazing experience. We tried a selection of wines and spirits, and received insightful and detailed explanations. The lunch was so delicious and the portions are very generous. The hosts are incredibly friendly.

We had the best experience! Lovely people, amazing wine and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended, we also came with a small child and they treated him very kindly. The Israelis who read treated us wonderfully, they really love the country and its people. Excellent wine, delicious food and all at a joke price. Highly recommended for those who want to treat themselves to a beautiful view, a homely and personal atmosphere.

If you are passing through Dafnes, you cannot miss a tasting at this exceptional winery. They have an excellent VIDIANO, but for our palate the TIERRA BLANCA is unbeatable because it combines Vidiano and local Moscato in an excellent way. We preferred to try the white wines, but the winery also offers reds and rosés. During the tasting, the owner explained to us in detail the origin of the vines and the production methods. So good, we tasted a few wines and we had a pairing session with some cheese, almonds, but also a lot of local Greek food. Amazing. If you have to go to one place for tasting wine or real Greek food: this is it. Make a reservation on the website and go for it. It won’t disappoint you.

It was an incredibly great experience and an absolutely successful trip. It is a family-run winery in a small, nice place called Dafnes, surrounded by grape fields. You definitely get more than you expect from the wine tasting. They take a lot of time, a very friendly lady who tells you about the different wines and spirits. I can only recommend this place to anyone who spends a few days on Crete.
