Daf Wines is a family-owned winery nestled in the picturesque mountainous region of Dafnes, Crete, where our family's roots run deep. For over 117 years, we have been committed to the art of vine cultivation and wine production, honoring our family traditions and values. Our grandfather, Evangelos Douloufakis, made history in 1952 by earning recognition at the International Fair of Thessaloniki, where his wine was celebrated for its exceptional quality.

Every bottle of our wine tells a story, reflecting the experience and knowledge passed down through generations. We are dedicated to preserving our heritage by instilling our principles and traditional values in the younger generation, ensuring the continued production of high-quality Cretan wines that showcase unique characteristics and flavors.

Low Intervention Wines

Our wines embody the authenticity that connects us to nature, which is why we practice low intervention winemaking. As a small family winery, we focus on Cretan native grape varieties, emphasizing the distinct characteristics of our region. We were there on a GetYourGuide tour with an e-bike. The wine... world class and by far the best wine I've ever had. There was also cheese, sausage, olives and bread with olive oil. We had the best experience! Lovely people, amazing wine and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended, we also came with a small child and they treated him very kindly. The Israelis who read treated us wonderfully, they really love the country and its people. Excellent wine, delicious food and all at a joke price. Highly recommended for those who want to treat themselves to a beautiful view, a homely and personal atmosphere.

If you are passing through Dafnes, you cannot miss a tasting at this exceptional winery. They have an excellent VIDIANO, but for our palate the TIERRA BLANCA is unbeatable because it combines Vidiano and local Moscato in an excellent way. We preferred to try the white wines, but the winery also offers reds and rosés. During the tasting, the owner explained to us in detail the origin of the vines and the production methods. So good, we tasted a few wines and we had a pairing session with some cheese, almonds, but also a lot of local Greek food. Amazing. If you have to go to one place for tasting wine or real Greek food: this is it. Make a reservation on the website and go for it. It won’t disappoint you.

It was an incredibly great experience and an absolutely successful trip. It is a family-run winery in a small, nice place called Dafnes, surrounded by grape fields. You definitely get more than you expect from the wine tasting. They take a lot of time, a very friendly lady who tells you about the different wines and spirits. I can only recommend this place to anyone who spends a few days on Crete.
