Vaziani Winery, established in 1982 and revitalized in 2012, boasts modern Italian equipment and non-corrosive metal reservoirs. This winery operates a unique closed production cycle, starting from grape selection to the final product, all adhering to ISO22000:2018 international standards.
The winery is renowned for its qvevri wines, which have historical ties to the Prince Makashvili family. These wines were once served to esteemed guests in the Kakheti region, showcasing the rich heritage of Georgian winemaking.
Today, Vaziani Winery, run by the descendants of the Makashvili family, produces qvevri wines that satisfy both expert palates and wine enthusiasts. Their commitment to quality has earned them numerous awards at prestigious international competitions.
The Makashvili Wine Cellar, part of Vaziani, dates back to the late 15th century. During the winery's reconstruction in 2012, over 200 ancient qvevri vessels were discovered, with 39 preserved in excellent condition. These century-old vessels are used to craft wines using traditional qvevri methods, resulting in limited production wines that have gained global acclaim.
