Founded in 1982 and modernized in 2012, Vaziani Winery combines rich history with contemporary winemaking techniques. The winery features state-of-the-art Italian equipment and non-corrosive metal reservoirs, ensuring a high-quality production process. With a closed production circle, Vaziani Winery oversees every step from grape selection to the final product, adhering to ISO22000:2018 international standards.

The winery is closely linked to the Prince Makashvili family, whose legacy continues through the production of exquisite qvevri wines. These wines have garnered numerous prestigious awards, reflecting the refined tastes of both experts and wine enthusiasts alike.

Utilizing the ancient qvevri winemaking method, which dates back 8,000 years, Vaziani Winery proudly represents this rich cultural heritage. The Makashvili Wine Cellar, part of the winery, has roots in the 15th century and houses qvevri vessels that are over 120 years old. During the winery's reconstruction in 2012, 200 qvevri vessels were discovered, with 39 preserved in excellent condition. The wines produced in these century-old vessels are crafted in limited quantities, earning global recognition for their exceptional quality.

We visited the winery and it was a great experience! We got a detailed explanation about the wine making, a tour at the factory, what is the difference between the difference methods of the wine making and we had the chance to try different wines. It's been a great visit and it's definitely a must stop if you are around.

Free wine tasting of four different Georgian wine. The lady guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable of wine. Good experience here. Only disappointed was that no factory tour could be arranged on the visit day.

We should have called ahead of time, but they let us do a tasting anyways. The sommelier was very knowledgable, and we had some great conversations about wine production and pairings. She took her time, letting the wines reach the right temperature, and presenting each bottle with a good explanation. My partner and I are wine snobs, and we both learned some new things. The wines were also very tasty- the amber wine blew us away, and I even liked the rosè, which is rare.

I just came there without reservation, 2 women working there were totaly nice and gave me wine testing for free !!!! The wine produced there is at scale, which make things even better imho. Dont try your luck and call/book there in advance, plenty of prebooked tours areon schedule, you might be not lucky as individual just walking by 😉

We went on excursions and tastings. Thanks to the girl Maya, I realized that I knew nothing about wine. She is an encyclopedia about winemaking in Georgia. White drying tower of Saperavi and Pirosmani

It was a quick but fun tour. We tried many different types of wine and bought some to take home. Unfortunately due to corona, there weren’t many bottles open so we couldn’t try more wines like their award winning Kisi. However, it was still a fun experience and they even gave us a ride home.

Wonderful wine. I recommend it. In the evening we arrived at the factory. Tamuna, the manager of the tasting room, kindly waited for us after closing time and gave us a presentation. Moderately fine, wonderful bouquet and aftertaste, the price is very reasonable. I'm talking about red wine, dry, bottled. Kisi and Mtsvane left contradictory impressions. Price list with prices for May 2017. Good luck!
