Maximum bang for our buck, here is what I mean: stumbled on the place by chance on a slow day on the island // Victor gave us a detailed intro on the old and recent history of the place, including architecture wise // we walked around their beautiful inner garden and talked about the accumulation lakes and how they work (there was a giant storm recently and was not yet safe to go around the vineyards) // the wine tasting itself was the most pleasurable, Victor had so much patience and we talked a lot - a really hands on experience of the mineral local wines amongst each other and in combination with the food. We have the EUR 30 happily and bought a bottle. The bottles, you may be able to find some of them in the market, but years may differ which counts

We spontaneously dropped by for a wine tasting and received a very warm welcome. You can choose between a tasting of three or six wines; the six-wine tasting includes red wine. We opted for the three-wine white wine tasting, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Victor had previously given us a tour of the winery and provided more information about its history, as well as about winemaking in the Azores in general. The tasting also included a platter of local delicacies.

Our host Simao gave us a warm welcome and shared a wealth of knowledge about wine. His ability to speak German was unexpected but very pleasant. The small wine tasting convinced us of the excellent quality of the wine from Pico Island.

Excellent program for a rainy day on the island. We tasted the 3 regional wines included and were even offered a fourth glass. We were served by Simão who, in addition to being friendly and giving excellent explanations, is generous in his service. We will repeat the experience.

The wine itself was very good, and Victor gave excellent explanations—super knowledgeable and detailed. However, the experience felt extremely overpriced: only three tastings and a few shared snacks for €60 for two people. Personally, I’d recommend buying a nice bottle of wine instead and enjoying it by the water on the coast.

A perfect stop during your stay on Pico island! We were staying in Madalena and this was an easy walk from our hotel. There is so much history to learn and the wine we tried was delicious and perfect for a summer afternoon. We booked ahead and were glad we did since it was quite busy!

A superb tasting (a private one, in the end). Victor provided a wealth of information about the vineyard and wine production on the island in general, and answered all our questions. We ended up trying four very interesting wines.

An unforgettable experience! We attended a tasting at Adega do Vulcao and were thrilled. The welcome was warm and authentic, and the owner passionately guided us through the house wines. Each glass spoke of the terroir: intense aromas, balanced flavors, and a strong connection to the islands. The location is enchanting, surrounded by vineyards, perfect for relaxing and fully enjoying the experience. On short notice we decided to do a wine tasting because the location was round the corner of our apartment. Our arrangement done via email was for 17:00, so we arrived a bit earlier there. A few guys were already there and the tasting had already started, but it was no problem and we were seated after being greeted. We wanted to taste three wines and got offered a fourth one because he was not aware of our appointment at 17:00. As all others had chosen a six wine tasting we although changed to this. The wines were really exclusive and good and the information we received in between the tasting were very detailed and professional. The young guy doing the wine tasting was really unique, but did a real good job drinking some of the offered wines himself. All in all we had a great and interesting time at this place with some good wines and the way back to our apartment was really funny being a bit drunk in the end….

My wife and I did a wine tasting back in April and our sommelier was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was in the garden of a beautiful property with a fantastic view of Pico. We left very pleased with our experience, and right in time to catch an amazing sunset just behind Faial across the channel.

Today, Viktor gave us a fantastic tour of the Adega grounds, including a very detailed explanation of its historical background. Afterwards, we were able to taste three very interesting and distinctive white wines. All in all, a very worthwhile experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.

The wine tasting at the Adega, right by the vineyard, had a wonderful atmosphere. The guide explained a great deal about the history of wine on Pico and the history of the family and the winery in particular. We had called a few hours earlier that morning to reserve the tour. In the end, there were only two of us, so it was practically a private wine tasting. The guide took his time, explaining everything and answering all our questions. We were able to taste three wines, unfortunately all three were white, as the winery only produces white wines. There were some snacks to accompany the tasting, and the guide shared many interesting details about the wines. Afterwards, we were able to spend some time at the estate, and the whole experience lasted about 1.5 hours. It was a thoroughly enjoyable wine tasting in a relaxed atmosphere, which I can highly recommend.

Fantastic tasting! The setting is lovely. The person who led the tasting took the time to explain the place, the history of wine in the Azores, the vineyards, and the different vintages. A very enjoyable experience, and we also bought some wine from them.

A wonderful experience. We were welcomed by Mrs. Cinzia, who told us her story and how this life project began. The wine tasting and the setting in which it took place were the perfect backdrop for a relaxing afternoon.

What a warm welcome! The wine culture is still young, but the results are encouraging. And at very reasonable prices in the cellar, I encourage you to come and taste the wines.
