/ Bell Cros: A Unique Winery with a Rich Heritage. Located in the heart of DO Montsant, Bell Cros is a vibrant winery that aims to spread joy through its exceptional wines. When you visit, you become part of our story, witnessing how we transformed a simple idea into a thriving brand.
/ The Beginning of Bell Cros began in 2017 when Swedish couple Ann and Peter decided to pursue their passion for winemaking. Starting with a small plot of land, they expanded by acquiring seven neighboring parcels. Today, Bell Cros spans 25 hectares, with 17 hectares dedicated to 30 to 80-year-old vines of indigenous Carinyena and Garnacha. Our annual production is around 50,000 bottles, showcasing the unique terroir of Catalonia.
/ Commitment to Quality is at the core of our mission. We aspire to be among the top five wineries in DO Montsant, and to achieve this, we have enlisted the expertise of Joan Asens, named winemaker of the year in Catalonia in 2019. Our state-of-the-art winery, completed just in time for the 2022 vintage, produced our first wine, La Figaflor 2022. We are proud to announce that this wine has been recognized as the best in its category for white wines made from Garnacha Blanca in "La Guia de Vins de Catalunya 2024," affirming our commitment to excellence.
/ Sustainable Practices are integral to our philosophy. Since our inception, we have focused on sustainable viticulture, and as of 2023, we are officially EU-certified organic and vegan. Peter and Anna were exceptionally warm and pleasant and it was extremely inspiring to experience Peter's amazing enthusiasm for what they do (the "project" as he calls it). With tremendous drive, will and a lot of work (and quite a lot of money...) they have created something very unique. The methods, equipment, knowledge and ingenuity are outstanding and the result is truly amazing. Dear Ann and Peter, I would like to thank you for your hospitality and educational visit of your winery. The tasting and snacks also were very nicely presented. Peter can convey the philosophy and operation of the project very well. The videos also clearly show the progression of the different steps in viticulture. Our friends and I enjoyed it immensely. It is a small and young winery, but with an extremely personal and interesting project in which you can see the passion for wine and for working with different things. The visit was very pleasant and the wines were great.
