The tale of the Spada winemaking family began in 1910 by Francesco’s great-grandfather, Giuseppe. Over the years, Francesco’s father, Renzo, refined and perfected all the wine production processes and gave the winery a new shape. Even today, at the age of 81, Renzo actively take part in many phases of vine cultivation. Named after Renzo’s nickname – El Cencio, under Rosso Verona IGT status, has won many awards because of its exceptional taste. Furthermore, the vineyards of Cantina Spada are extended over a land of ten hectares, positioned in the central part of Valpolicella Classica, in Cariano. With care and attention in the vineyards and the utmost respect to the ecosystem of the region, Francesco grows several high-quality grape varieties.

Some of the delicious wine categories of the estate are red, white, and dessert wines. To protect the authenticity and quality of the wines, the owner traditionally carries out all the wine production processes in the cellar. For the refinement and aging of wines, the cellar consists of top-quality oak barrels.
