Cantina Spada: A Family Tradition

Located in the picturesque Valpolicella region of San Pietro, Cantina Spada Winery embodies the Spada family's deep-rooted passion for winemaking. Under the stewardship of Francesco Spada, the winery continues a legacy that began in 1910 with his great-grandfather, Giuseppe. Francesco's father, Renzo, played a pivotal role in refining the winemaking process, and at 81, he remains actively involved in vineyard management.

Renowned Wines with a Personal Touch

Named after Renzo's nickname, El Cencio, the winery's flagship wine has garnered numerous awards for its exceptional quality. The vineyards span ten hectares in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, specifically in Cariano, where Francesco cultivates a variety of high-quality grapes with respect for the local ecosystem. The estate produces notable grape varieties, including Garganega, Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara, Rondinella, Cabernet, and Merlot.

Quality Wines from Valpolicella

The unique terroir of Valpolicella contributes to the distinct flavors and aromas of the wines. Cantina Spada offers a diverse selection, including red, white, and dessert wines. To maintain authenticity and quality, all winemaking processes are conducted traditionally in the cellar, which features premium oak barrels for aging and refinement.

An excellent wine tasting, accompanied by excellent cold cuts. Mattia was very good and friendly in explaining the phases starting from the vineyard, to the subsequent phases of refinement. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who made us feel at home. Well done! The experience should be repeated

A great experience! Very satisfying visit and wine tasting. Francesco really intrigued us with his explanation of the whole process, from grape harvesting to bottling. Although we are not great wine connoisseurs, we really appreciated tasting the wines on offer, accompanied by a nice plate of cold cuts. The Amarone and Valpolicella Superiore are the best, but the white Garganeva is no exception. Thanks to Francesco for his availability and time spent with us.

We visited the Spada winery in Valpolicella and the experience was very interesting. Mattia was very helpful and passionately guided us through the wine production process. The Amarone and Valpolicella were excellent and the “Cencio”, named after the owner, turned out to be a really good wine. Thanks again Mattia for this authentic experience in the world of wine! I highly recommend the Spada winery to everyone.

We arrived this morning almost by chance, after finding this winery searching on the Internet. We were very kindly welcomed by the owner and Mattia, the latter let us taste his wines and was able to explain everything perfectly, giving us the best advice. We will definitely return to try the tasting route with an accompanying tour of the winery. See you soon
