A Family Legacy in Catalonia's Wine Heritage Since 1567
History of Casa Ravella
Casa Ravella is a family-owned winery with a rich history dating back to 1567. Located in the heart of the Muntanyes d'Ordal region, our vineyards rest on unique soils formed from coral reef sediments of the Miocene period, revealing that this land was once below sea level. The clay-loam and permeable soil, underpinned by limestone, provides an ideal environment for grape cultivation.
We proudly produce wines under the Penedés Protected Designation of Origin (P.D.O.) and Cava, with vineyards spread across various municipalities in the Alt Penedés region, just 25 km from Barcelona. This diverse terroir contributes to the distinct character of our wines.
Ecological Wine-Making
At Casa Ravella, we are dedicated to sustainable practices in our vineyards. Our commitment to ecological agriculture is recognized by the Catalonian Council of Ecological Agricultural Production (CCPAE). We prioritize the health of our environment, ensuring that our wine-making processes do not compromise our natural resources for future generations. For years, we have cultivated our vineyards using 100% ecological methods, reflecting our dedication to quality and sustainability.
