Constant Dedication of Five Generations

Charmed with the vineyards of two sister regions, Montsant DO and Priorat DOQ, Cellers Capafons Ossó is located in the municipality of Falset in the Tarragona city and has lush countryside surrounding it. Today, the winery is operated by the fifth generation of winemakers, and each generation has contributed something unique to the winery. As a result, the vineyards enjoy fertile terroirs and microclimate, suitable for estate-owned grapes.

The Best of Both Worlds – Cellers Capafons Ossó has Two Wineries

Cellers Capafons Ossó consists of two actively working wineries, Masia Esplanes Winery and Mas de Masos Winery. The first one has its base in the DO Montdant region, comprising eight hectares of vineyards. It cultivates various varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Grenache Hairy, Muscat, Carignan, Syrah, and Grenache de País. The latter occupies 60 hectares of land in the DOQ Priorat wine region. Fourteen hectares are dedicated to viticulture, where the owner grows Merlot, Grenache Hairy, Grenache Blanca, Moscatel, Viognier, and more. The oldest vineyard in this region was planted in 1952.

The Winery is Thriving Since the Early 90s

Originally, the winery was developed in 1992, and since then, tourists can see many modern technologies been introduced to the cellar and the vineyards. The oldest vines owned by Cellers Capafons Ossó are over 60 to 100 years old. The grapes are harvested manually, and the selective bunches are moved to the cellar with the utmost care.
