This one was one of my favorites. We had a private tour of the vines and barrel room. Our guide even let us try some of the rotting grapes from the vines that would get pressed into wine. It's fine, we lived! He also let us try some of the wine that wasn't quite ready yet. It was like sparkling grape juice. 🍇 One unique thing about this vineyard was the artwork scattered around the barrels and in the tasting room by @artistetiphaniecanada! On top of the art work, the owner apparently really likes these stuffed animals... just take a look at the last photo. 📸 Finally, to our tasting. We didn't have any snacks with this, but look how many glasses we used 🙈 Our guide was so knowledgeable about the wines and helped us learn so much about the process! Highly recommend this place for a tour!

What a dream to visit Chateau de Rayne-Vigneau. On some of the highest grounds in Sauternes, you can see the chateau from miles away. Our host at Sigalas Rabaud suggested visiting Rayne-Vigneau for being one of the most beautiful vineyards in Sauternes in additions to having some of the most tasty Sauterne and he was correct. When we arrived, the young lady said that there was a tour in progress and apologized but suggested we come back at a set later time. When we arrived late in the afternoon, we were the only guests and felt like we had a private tasting. The young sommelier clearly knew her wines and was so enthusiastic! So much for the stereotype that you don’t get great service in France. The small fee for the Sauterne tasting was well worth it. The whole experience at Chateau de Rayne-Vigneau was so pleasant I will never forget it.

We had a lovely experience at Château Rayne Vigneau. The guide provided a detailed and interesting tour in English for us. Finished our visit in the tasting room. They make incredible wines! Highly recommended!

If you like Sauternes wines, this is the place for you. High-quality German guided tours and a lovely tasting. The châteaux's second wine is also highly recommended.

This famous premier cru of Sauternes, located on a fabulous terroir, is gradually reconnecting with its prestigious past and its magical 1921, 1928, 1929, 1937, 1950 and 1962 among others. It is true that with 84 hectares in one piece on one of the most beautiful ridges of the appellation, it is not the worst off. The large investments made allow it to restore them. Well supported by its owner Derek Smith, the emperor of mail order sales, its director Vincent Labergère follows in the footsteps of this prestigious past. The visit is very well organized with excellent explanatory panels on food and wine pairings, the aromas to discover in Sauternes, the effects of aging, etc.

Also open on Sundays, welcome and visit even for one person, passion is priceless, but a big thank you from a lover of sweet and special wines like Souternes, I think it's nice, thank you.

The Spanish-speaking guide, Hélène, was excellent. The only thing missing was seeing the impressive chateau inside, which is privately owned.
