Château Kirwan, An 18th Century Winery in Bordeaux
Château Kirwan is located in the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux. The history of Château Kirwan dates back to the 18th century when Mark Kirwan inherited the estate in 1760. The vines of the estate cover an area of 37 hectares with grape varieties 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Petit Verdot. Since 1926, Château Kirwan has been owned by the Schÿler family, also known as one of the oldest merchants in Bordeaux, Schröder and Schÿler.

The most popular tour at Château Kirwan is a standard tour that starts with the visit of the vineyard and ends with the tasting two wines. The interactive tour is an audio-guided walk along the vines and around the park which finishes with a blind tasting of their wines. For your wine tasting, there is an option to select the exact vintage you would like to try. You may also to compare the En Primeur vintage while it is still aging in oak barrels. Depending on the season, you may also join the winemaking team of Château Kirwan under the leadership of the technical manager and learn how to take care of the vines and gain a small insight into the winemaking process.
