Château La Croizille covers an area of five hectares. It boasts a remarkable terroir and superb exposure to the clay and limestone plateau. The De Schepper – De Mour family runs this winery from ages. The family combines their winemaking traditions with cutting-edge technology to produce incomparable wines. Talking about the terroir, the Château La Croizille winery sits on the right bank of the Dordogne in Bordeaux. The Saint-Emilion area benefits from the oceanic climate.

The well-distributed precipitation of the temperature throughout the year makes it an ideal place for growing grapes. Hot summers help grapes perfectly mature. During the spring season, the Dordogne and Isle safeguard clusters from the risk of frost. The vineyard basement at the Château La Croizille winery feature soft sandstone rock and clay. The clay texture soil has a high retention capacity. The clay in this region can retain water and use it during drought. The vine plunges its roots very deeper in the ground and benefits from it. However, the topographic position of the slopes contributes to the increasing draining capacity of the soil. Moreover, the vineyard enjoys terroirs with a great diversity. You can find a variety of soils including clay-limestone soils, blue and red clays, pure limestone, etc., all on the same plot.

Want to stay at the winery? The Château La Croizille has rooms for rentals. You can attend their workshops, wine tasting events and take a guided tour to the winery. Keep checking their official website to know about their upcoming events.
