A Historic Bordeaux Winery with Timeless Craftsmanship
Centuries of Winemaking Tradition
Château Laffitte Carcasset has been crafting exceptional red wines since 1790. Founded by Sir Joseph Laffitte, this winery has a rich history that reflects generations of winemaking expertise. In 1955, the estate was acquired by Viscount Pierre de Padirac, who expanded the vineyard and implemented modern techniques to enhance wine quality.
The Winery Today
Today, Château Laffitte Carcasset continues its legacy under the guidance of Pierre Rousseau, who purchased the estate in 2016. Renowned oenologist Hubert de Bouard, owner of Château Angelus, now advises the winery, further improving the quality of its wines. Nestled in the heart of the gravellous plateau of Saint Estèphe, the estate spans 74 acres of vineyards planted on Garonne gravel over clay-limestone subsoil. The wines are aged for 12 months in 30% new French oak barrels, resulting in thousands of bottles produced each year, showcasing the unique terroir of Bordeaux.
