Château Les Remparts and their International Recognition
Château Les Remparts is located in the commune of Preignac. The winery produces AOC Sauternes, AOC Graves and AOC Cerons wines on 10 hectares of vines in three communes: Preignac (for the Sauternes), Pujols-sur-Ciron (for the Graves) and Cerons (Graves and Cerons). The Château Les Remparts belongs to Eli Ragimov, who acquired it in 2011 and has invested since in vineyards. He has completed the mass selection of the old Sémillon vines that he recently replanted. Their main aim is to create the best possible quality wines and to offer them to their partners on the international markets at fair prices, corresponds to the requirements of these markets.
Sustainable Methods for Truly Divine Sauternes
The winery employs sustainable farming techniques, namely mechanical weed control, and minimal chemical intervention for vines disease control. They usually keep low to very low yields in order to emphasize the quality of their wines (average of 10HL/ha for Sauternes, 45HL/ha for the red Graves, and 20 HL/ha for the white Graves). They apply a rigorous selection to lot selection and blending. Therefore, their annual production is estimated at around 30,000 bottles. Château Les Remparts prides themselves on their export orientation and sharing their wines with the world. Several key markets include the UK (imported by Enotria & Coe), Hong Kong (Cottage Vineyards), Japan (Millesimes Inc.), US (L Wines), Belgium (Vins de Pierre), Germany (Gebr. Volkhardts) and France.
