Ancestral Winemaking Roots to Modern-Day Winegrowing

Château Puyfromage is nestled in the Francs Côtes de Bordeaux, adjacent to the renowned Saint-Emilion. The estate is owned by four brothers—Yves, Francis, Philippe, and Frédéric Marque—who carry on a family legacy that dates back generations. Their ancestors were coopers, winemakers, and wine merchants. In 1943, their grandfather, Abel Alber, took the helm of Château Puyfromage, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the estate's winemaking history.

A Commitment to Quality Winemaking

Spanning 53 hectares, the vineyard at Château Puyfromage showcases a harmonious blend of old and young vines. Each year, the winery rejuvenates approximately 2 hectares of its vineyards. Located on the right bank of the Garonne River, the estate benefits from a favorable climate and a dedicated team, ensuring the production of high-quality wines. Collaborating with expert oenologists, the winery maintains a meticulous winemaking process, resulting in wines that are rich in aroma, flavor, and texture.

Authentic Winemaking Techniques at Château Puyfromage

Château Puyfromage prioritizes environmental sustainability, allowing the true character of its terroir and grapes to shine through in their wines. The winery specializes in crafting fruity wines with delightful aromatic profiles and smooth tannins. Merlot is the primary grape variety, contributing notes of ripe cherry, strawberry, and plum, complemented by intriguing forest floor nuances. On the palate, these wines are dry, medium-bodied, and finish with a hint of spice. For wine enthusiasts and travelers alike, Château Puyfromage offers guided tours and wine tasting events, making it a must-visit destination in Bordeaux.

Awesome!!! We first came to visit the castle, we were very well received, the visit was enriching and we discovered a really delicious wine. Then a few years later we chose Château Puyfromage wine for our wedding, what a great idea! The wine was delivered on time, and it was really appreciated by all our guests, a few weeks after the wedding they are still talking to us about it. Thank you for everything, we had a great time :)
