Development of the Craft of Winemaking at Château Tifayne
Brought to life in 1997 after years of interest in winemaking, Le Château Tifayne has continued to grow. After working as a manager on one of the wine property in Gironde in 1989, the founders of Château Tifayne developed a passion for wine. After years of developing the Tifayne with vines and cellars, the founders took it to the next level. In 2011, the owners of Tifayne opened the winery for tourism with the installation of a reception hall as well as guest rooms. In the winery, they offer a guided tour through the vineyard with a wine tasting event.
Terroir and the Exotic Aromas and Flavors It Creates
The Château covers 13 hectares in total, all with clay and limestone soil that influences the quality of the wines. They are all located in Monbadon municipality in Côtes de Bordeaux region. This is the largest AOC vineyard in France. The Appellation is known for the diversity of its terroir which greatly influence the exotic tastes of the wines from here. Château Tifayne have a variety of dry white wine, Rosé and Cremant de Bordeaux. For their red wines, they have merlot grapes, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and Malbec. For their dry white wine variety, they started cultivating muscadelle in 2008.
