Château Vieux Mougnac does not mean just wine. Indeed, it means high-quality pure original red or white wine. Besides, it means visiting a museum with old tools which were used by the family. It means the spirit of a farm where you can watch and feed domestic animals. Moreover, it means that you can get experience and knowledge.
The terroir is located 50 km off Bordeaux, nearby the village Saint-Emilion. The vineyard embraces 10 hectares. 0,5 hectares is dedicated to the growth of the white grape variety, Semillon. 9,5 hectares are the terroir of red sorts. They are 70 percent Merlot and 30 percent Cabernet Franc.
The passion of elaborating and cultivation of wines stared in 1870. It is the 5th generation of heritage, not only of the property but also of experience and love of high-quality wines. Since 2012 the family is certified for their organic farming. Likewise, the Milhard-Bessard family follows the natural rhythm of seasoning with a deep respect for the environment.
They use their own special methods of wine cultivation which allow roots of the shrubs go deep, stay mature and healthy, they do not use treatments against decay, they plow their soils without machinery and you can even see a horse along the shrubs in the vineyards.
The Chateau Vieux Mougnac keeps its paragon of beauty which is impossible to give away. The only chance is just to touch it.
