Château Vieux Mougnac, a Symbol of Quality and Knowledge
Château Vieux Mougnac does not mean just wine. Indeed, it means high-quality pure original red or white wine. Besides, it means visiting a museum with old tools that were used by the family. It means the spirit of a farm where you can watch and feed domestic animals. Moreover, it means that you can get experience and knowledge.
Growing Merlot and Cabernet Franc from Saint-Emilion
The terroir of the winery is located 50 km off Bordeaux, nearby the village Saint-Emilion. The vineyard embraces 10 hectares. 0,5 hectares are dedicated to the growth of the white grape variety, Semillon. 9,5 hectares are the terroir of red sorts. The winery’s terroir is 70 percent Merlot and 30 percent Cabernet Franc.
Listening to Nature’s Rhythms for Five Generation
The passion for elaborating and cultivation of wines stared in this winery in 1870. It is the 5th generation of heritage, not only of the property but also of experience and love of high-quality wines. Since 2012 the family is certified for their organic farming. Likewise, the Milhard-Bessard family follows the natural rhythm of seasoning with a deep respect for the environment. The winery owners use their own special methods of wine cultivation which allow the roots of the shrubs to go deep, mature properly, and stay healthy, they do not use treatments against decay, they plow their soils without machinery and you can even see a horse along with the shrubs in the vineyards. Chateau Vieux Mougnac embodies its virtue of beauty through exquistely crafted wines.
