Rich History of De Stefani Winery
The De Stefani winery, located in Fossalta di Piave (Venice), has a unique historical significance. In July 1918, the renowned author Ernest Hemingway received treatment here after being wounded in World War I. The family's winemaking roots trace back to Refrontolo, a quaint village in Veneto, with official records dating back to 1624. In 1866, Valeriano De Stefani identified the exceptional terroir of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene region, a UNESCO World Heritage site, setting the stage for the production of remarkable wines.
