A Traditional Catalan Farmhouse
Jané Santacana, S.L. is housed in the historic Masia Baldús, a traditional Catalan farmhouse dating back to the 17th century. This estate has a rich history of agriculture, with a focus on vineyards and winemaking. Since 1970, the Baldús Estate has dedicated itself to cultivating grapes and producing wine in bulk. By the late 1970s, we proudly introduced our first bottles of wine and cava to the market.
Penedès Wine Region
Located in the heart of the Penedès region, our estate spans 50 hectares (approximately 123 acres). The unique soil composition and gently sloping hills, ranging from 210 to 240 meters in altitude, create ideal conditions for growing native grape varieties such as Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada, and Merlot.
Winemaking at Jané Santacana, S.L.
Our grape harvest occurs from late August to late September. We carefully extract free-run juice from the first pressing, which serves as the base for our wines and sparkling wines. This juice is fermented at low temperatures in our vats to retain its aromatic qualities. Every step of the winemaking process, from planting and nurturing the vines to harvesting, pressing, bottling, aging, and labeling, takes place on our estate, ensuring quality and authenticity in every bottle.
