A Rich Winemaking Heritage

The Rumpf family has cultivated their winemaking skills over generations, resulting in exceptional wines that reflect their expertise. In the early 1980s, Stefan Rumpf pioneered the planting of Chardonnay in the region, setting the stage for innovative practices that continue to shape their success today.

Diverse Grapes Thrive in Their Terroirs

Weingut Kruger Rumpf is home to a variety of grape varieties, including Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. Their Rieslings, particularly the Riesling Burgberg GG and Riesling In Pitterberg GG, have gained international acclaim for their quality and character.

A Sustainable Vision for the Future

Weingut Kruger Rumpf is dedicated to sustainable practices, utilizing minimal external resources for energy, water, and nutrients. They produce their own compost and redesigned vineyard terraces in 2013 to promote biodiversity and support livestock. The Rumpf family's background in agricultural sciences informs their holistic approach to winemaking.

Wanted to try the hog jowls but that wasn’t on today’s menu. Had chicken and fish dishes instead. Nice garden patio and friendly and helpful staff. Good red wine but it’s the only red they have. That’s not unusual since the area is known for Riesling. No English menu but the staff will tell you each item in English. Only about 30 minutes from Mainz. Worth the drive.

A great restaurant with house wines and excellent food. The very friendly and attentive service completes the very good overall impression. It was a very nice experience to experience the tasting menu here and taste the matching wines.

The food is delicious; both the fish and lamb were tastefully prepared. The service seemed a bit stressed. Understandably, given the busy restaurant. However, the guests shouldn't notice.

A very nice, chic and cozy restaurant with fine cuisine. The food was a dream. Everything was extremely tasty and finely seasoned. Someone knows their craft! We tried the Blanc de Noir - what a good wine!!! We definitely won't be there for the last time.☺️
