Maius Viticultors Winery: A Legacy Since 1949

Located in the heart of Sant Cugat del Valles, Maius Viticultors has been a cornerstone of the local wine community since its founding in 1949 by Manuel Gomez. Initially a retail wine shop, the winery underwent a transformation in 1992, expanding to include a diverse selection of high-quality wines and a cozy restaurant for visitors to enjoy.

Priorat: The Heart of Exceptional Wines

In 1998, the family began crafting their own wines, selecting Priorat as their Denomination of Origin. This region was chosen for its unique terroir, which aligns perfectly with the winery's vision. With guidance from renowned winemaker Joan Mila, Maius Viticultors revamped their production facilities and released their inaugural vintage in 2004.

Commitment to Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Practices

The vineyards of Maius Viticultors are situated in Barrand de la Bruixa, characterized by high-altitude terraces and diverse soils, including limestone and licorella slate. The vines thrive with minimal irrigation, producing grapes with distinctive flavors. Hand-harvesting ensures only the finest grapes are selected for winemaking. The winery prioritizes sustainability, utilizing solar energy and recycling rainwater for irrigation. With nearly eight percent of the facility underground, it maintains a consistent temperature of around 15 degrees Celsius, while its construction of wood, stone, and concrete harmonizes with the natural landscape.
