The Winery
Palliser Estate Wines is proudly owned by a dedicated group of New Zealanders who have spent over thirty years crafting wines that reflect the unique character of our region. Located in Martinborough, which produces just 1% of New Zealand's wine, we are committed to creating exceptional wines that embody the essence of our land, climate, and heritage.
The Lands
Our estate is renowned for its outstanding Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc, and aromatic varietals. The cool, dry climate and free-draining soils of the southern Wairarapa sub-region provide the perfect conditions for growing high-quality grapes.
Under the guidance of head Winemaker Guy McMaster, we have initiated an organic vineyard program aimed at producing iconic wines that connect us to our Martinborough roots. Currently, 35% of our six vineyards on the esteemed Martinborough Terrace are managed organically, with three vineyards certified by BioGro NZ. We aim to achieve 100% organic management by 2025.
All our wines are 100% estate grown, and we take pride in being the first CEMARS certified winery in the world since 2009, recognizing our commitment to measuring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Our stylish cellar door welcomes visitors year-round, offering a delightful selection of wines for tasting. Guests can enjoy personalized tastings or relax with a leisurely lunch in our Summer Restaurant or the beautiful courtyard surrounded by park-like scenery.
