Quinta do Cume in the Famous Douro Region

The Quinta do Cume winery is present in the sunny hills of the ancient Provezende which is present on Douro river’s right bank. The famous Douro wine region is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2001. Jorge Tenreiro works along with Jean-Hugues-Gros to make world-class wines here with passion. Quinta do Cume is a small producer with sustainability and quality its main aim. For the winery, production of wine is not enough, and they aim to transform the grapes into their greatest form of expression.

The Winery has Vineyards in the Best Locations

Throughout the Quinta, numerous parcels of vines can be found with important variances such as sun exposure, grape variety, age of vines, and inclination. Such characteristics are vital and were chosen purposely to achieve the highest quality and to seek maximum terroir expression in the wines produced. The aim is to produce high-quality wines which are full of structure and complexity and to balance these classic Douro characteristics with elegance and freshness.

The white grape varieties grown include Viosinho, Malvasia Fina, Alvarinho, Sauvignon Blanc, Rabigato, etc. while reds include Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, etc. The winery combines traditional values with modern winemaking methods. Their commitment to excellence has provided Quinta do Cume wines with numerous awards over the recent years, acquired the likes of well-regarded wine critics and magazines. Tours and tastings are also conducted here for guests.
