Commitment to Organic Wine Production

At Sad Meli, the wines are crafted from 100% organically grown grapes. The winery proudly uses handpicked varieties such as Saperavi, Kudurouli, Alexsandrouli, Mujuretuli, Tsolikouri, and Rchuli Tetra, all sourced from the local area. The grapes are fermented, stored, and aged in traditional Qvevri, clay vessels that enhance the wine's unique characteristics. Each wine matures for six months in these vessels, preserving its natural flavors.

Sad Meli Winery's wines are free from bioactive additives, allowing wine lovers to enjoy pure red, white, and dessert wines without chemical interference. You may even notice natural sediment at the bottom of your bottle or glass, as the wine is unfiltered, showcasing its authenticity.

We settled further up the mountain, in a different place. Passing by Sad Meli, we decided to stop by for lunch. They wrote in the app that they would like to visit them in 30 minutes. They tactfully replied that they usually accept by appointment, but now they are ready to accept. Indeed, everything turned out to be more than wonderful! Archil and Manana are wonderful hosts - this is not a cafe, not a restaurant, not a bar, it is a wine house. Therefore, Manana gives everything away and asks for a pre-registration. Ordered Lori Rachinsky 5/5 Lobio with ham, 5/5 Phali 5/5 Ojakhuri 5/5 I wanted to lick every dish! The wine is also excellent, you can immediately notice its own preparation and the absence of chemicals. The view from the terrace is wonderful! We wish the owners prosperity, longevity and a good harvest! Manana said that her son will soon open a Georgian restaurant with the same name in London - we really hope that he will have the opportunity to visit it! We definitely recommend it, thank you so much for your hospitality!

Very accidentally we found this place on Google maps while being in Ambrolauri. The hosts, the place, the environment and the food have created such an exceptional experience - very thankful for everything. The views from their place are perfect. With different kinds of sitting places. And the wine.. you just have to taste it! Unique and magic Racha ..with people and places like this

I recently visited Sad Meli Winery with friends. It has beautiful views and fantastic food. Our best dish was “Shkmeruli,” a tasty Georgian chicken meal. Mrs. Manana, our hostess, was very kind and felt like our grandmother. Remember to call and order ahead of time because they need a reservation in advance to serve you.

Wonderful winery, tasty food, lovely hosts. They have very rare wines that you can buy only in a few places, which makes it very special for wine lovers. Natural wine, made with traditional methods, what can be better. The winery has a fantastic panoramic view, overlooking Rioni river (with its terraced vineyards), hills and moutains coated with forests and greenery. Everything about the house, garden and marani (wine cellar) says that the place was made with love and care for details. Thank you!

We stopped here spontaneously for a wine tasting, which was possible without prior reservation. We were also given a tour of the cellar and the grandson, who speaks very good English, explained everything about the wines to us. The wines are excellent, all handmade within the family and with the help of friends. The wines have a good price/performance ratio, all matured in Qvevri. The view is phenomenal, the winery is lovingly decorated - in short: a beautiful spot on earth and good wine to go with it - what more could you want?
