Crafting Exceptional Limited-Edition Wines in Racha
Pataridze's Rachuli Cellar
Pataridze's Rachuli Cellar is nestled in the picturesque region of Racha, Georgia. Located in the village of Abanoeti within the Ambrolauri Municipality, the winery's vineyards were established in 2008. Here, the unique Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties thrive in a microzone known for its ideal growing conditions. The vineyard practices sustainable farming, utilizing only natural, biologically clean preparations to nurture the vines. All grapes used in their wines are hand-harvested from their own vineyards, ensuring quality and authenticity.
A Family Tradition
This family-owned winery is rooted in a rich heritage of winemaking. The owners learned the craft from their grandfather, who instilled in them a deep appreciation for vine cultivation. In 2015, the cousins took a significant step by launching their own winery, dedicating themselves to traditional methods. They work alongside their team in the vineyards, prioritizing manual labor over machinery to select the finest grapes.
The Vineyards of Pataridze
The vineyards of Pataridze span 1.5 hectares at an elevation of 695 meters above sea level, benefiting from abundant sunlight that enhances the sugar content of the grapes, reaching levels of 26-28. The Alexandreuli and Mujuretuli grape varieties are endemic to this region, growing exclusively in a few villages in Racha. With only 3,200 plants cultivated, the winery focuses on producing limited-edition wines that reflect the unique terroir of their land.
