A Testament to Resilience and Quality
How It All Began
San Juanito Winery emerged from a vision to create a productive and sustainable country estate. After overcoming numerous challenges and consulting with experts, the owners planted their first vines in 2011. They carefully selected rootstocks and grape varieties from France that would thrive in the unique terroir of Querétaro.
Perfectly Positioned
San Juanito is located in the southernmost part of the northern hemisphere, providing an ideal climate for growing high-quality grapes. The winery benefits from the presence of Peña de Bernal, a significant rock formation that has historical importance. Known as Ma'hando in the ancient Otomí dialect, this rock was once viewed as a gateway to sacred lands. Currently, San Juanito spans 30 hectares, with 8 hectares dedicated to grape varieties such as Malbec, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Xarello, Macabeo, and Parellada. This diverse selection contributes to the winery's reputation for producing exceptional wines.
