The South Estonian Winery

Veinimäe Winery is nestled in the stunning landscape of Võrumaa, where you can discover a diverse array of grape varieties sourced from around the globe. Our vineyard offers a peaceful retreat, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. Join us for a unique tasting experience that highlights the crisp flavors of Nordic wines, guided by our knowledgeable agronomist, a graduate of the University of Life Sciences.

Veinimäe Farm Terroir

The terroir at Veinimäe is defined by its low-fertility, acidic loamy soil, typical of Southern Estonia. Situated 120 meters above sea level, our vineyard benefits from quick-draining soil, while low-lying areas require careful drainage. The Otepää upland captures much of the precipitation from northern storms, but we also experience the influence of cyclones from the south and southeast, creating a unique climate for our grapes.

Veinimäe Wines

At Veinimäe Winery, we primarily focus on red wine production, but we also enjoy experimenting with various beverages. Our pink apple cider, infused with dark red grape wine, offers a delightful twist. Additionally, we craft a distinctive cloudy masculine cask cider using hops. One of our standout creations is Talvenauding, a sparkling apple wine made using the traditional champagne method, featuring a second fermentation in the bottle for added complexity.

I have long wanted to go to these vineyards. The novel very interestingly tells about the method of growing grapes, varieties and, of course, about wines and their production. Here your questions will be answered and you can even buy grape seedlings.
