Tbilisi’s Qvevri Wine Legacy Tasting

Hello and welcome to Simonica - Chkheidze Wines! I am Nini Ckheidze, the third generation in my family to continue the winemaking tradition. It is our pleasure to host you! During the tasting, you will learn about Georgian wines in general, ancient tradition of winemaking in Qvevri, natural winemaking, sustainable farming and of course we will be happy to share story behind our wines, family, farming and winemaking practices.

Our natural wines are produced from the grapes harvested in our organic vineyards in Obcha (Imereti) and Zana (Samegrelo) and the wines represent the terroirs of their origin.

The wines are made, matured and in some cases aged in Qvevri, with or without maceration, depending on the grape variety and a year. We don't use niether any cultural yeasts during the fermentation and nor filter or fine the wines. There is no added sulfur in our wines.

At the tasting we will offer 4 different wines from our collection. one sparkling, one amber, one white and one red paired with light snacks.
