Darling Cellars: A Scenic Winery in South Africa

Located in the charming town of Darling on South Africa's West Coast, Darling Cellars Winery is surrounded by stunning vineyards, vibrant flamingoes, and lush orchids. This winery is dedicated to producing and exporting a diverse range of wines, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling varieties.

Founded in 1996, Darling Cellars is a cooperative of around 20 shareholders who cultivate grapes across approximately 1,300 hectares of vineyards.

Unique Terroir of the Coastal Region

The region's bush vines are deeply rooted, allowing them to access water and nutrients from the soil's depths. With nearly 95% of the vineyard land unirrigated, the wines produced here truly reflect the unique terroir. Darling Cellars specializes in Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz, while also producing exceptional Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery also cultivates historical grape varieties from the 1970s, such as Malbec, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Semillon, along with Nouvelle, Grenache, and Petit Verdot, resulting in distinctive wines.

The winery has invested in modern equipment, including stainless steel tanks with cooling systems, advanced presses, and efficient berry off-loading conveyor systems. Dedicated spaces for bottling, barrel-aging, and fermentation ensure that each bottle reflects the winery's commitment to excellence.
