Wine tasting and tour at Agriturismo Torre Pernice
A unique agriturismo that includes a dive into history, along with wine tasting activities.
Beautified by the striking mountains and sea, Torre Pernice is a family-owned wine estate located in the Albenga plain, a short drive away from the Alassio Beach, in western Liguria. The winery is named after the ancient tower, built in the 1500s, which has become the jewel of Torre Pernice today. Not just wines and spirits, the estate also offers an unforgettable agriturismo to guests from all over the world.
A joyous story of Torre Pernice was initiated in 1950 by the Sartori family. The descendants of the Sartori family follow the winemaking tradition and take an active part in wine production processes. Roberto and Bianca, the owners, welcome guests to the magnificent agriturismo, while daughters Maria, Chiara, and Sofia handle the cellar operations and hospitality activities. The cellar features advanced machinery, along with traditional wooden oak barrels for storing and ageing wines.
Respecting Mother Nature, the Sartori family grows three unique grape varieties, including Pigato, Vermentino, and Rossese. The burst of sunshine, paired with delicate breezes, gives rise to a perfect microclimate for the ripening of grapes. These vines are used to produce some of the best Ligurian wines, comprising red, white, rose, and sparkling wines under DOC statuses.
The Agriturismo Torre Pernice is world-known. Inside the winery building, there stands an antique wine bar that will remind you about the cavaliers, arms-bearers, and dames who once lived in this historic tower. Various traditional dishes and drinks, along with Ligurian specialties, can be tried inside the restaurant. Tourists are also allowed to visit the Winter Garden that holds a breathtaking view of the vineyards and plains. For overnight stays, guests can utilize well-furnished bedrooms of Antique Casale.

Pigato, Vermentino, Rossese
The rossese grapes of our company and the pinot noir grapes are harvested manually in boxes in mid-September. Vinification: the wine is obtained from the flower must of “Rossese” grapes and from Pinot Noir grapes, both vinified in white; the wine is then sent for the second fermentation according to the Martinotti method.
This Pigato is produced exclusively with grapes from the company's oldest vineyards; the thinning of the bunches and the late harvest give it even greater aromas and body. Dry white wine, straw yellow, gold color with brilliant reflections
Dry white wine, golden straw yellow colour; Made with 100% Pigato grapes, it is produced exclusively in the Western Ligurian Riviera and mainly in the Albenga area. It takes its name from the rust-colored spots that form on the ripe grapes.
