The winery is nestled in the Black Forest in Colorado across from the Airforce Academy and close to Garden of the Gods. The company was created in August 12th, 2007. The winery is owned and operated by the Shapiro family.

Perseverance and hard work pay off

The Shapiro family holds an interesting story regarding their company’s journey. They first started growing the vines in the pots and were surprised and impressed to see the results. They then started to grow them extensively. Since the winter was quite hard, they had a bad year in 2009 when early snow killed most of their vines. But in 2010, the family again started growing their vines a today they own 600 vines. When they first began in 2007, they made wines from Home brew shops creating their own kits.

Visit the winery in the heart of Black Forest

The beautiful Black Forest is a great place to visit and enjoy varieties of Colorado wines, cheeses, farm products, and to experience the Black Forest History. The family has been operating the business for the last 14 years and are proud of themselves in keeping with local products from all around Colorado. One can visit the farm on Sundays or go to the old log cabin all other days.
Black Forest Meadery makes meads from local Colorado ingredients and Colorado honeys and the wines delivers aromas of Colorado wildflower meadows.

The winery produces different types of wines including red, white, rose and dessert from the grape varieties like Mead, Cabernet, Merlot, Riesling and Chardonnay
