Creating Something Special With the Grapes Grown at the Bonfadini Franciacorta Winery

The story of Azienda Agricola Bonfadini began in 1956 when Giovanni, the grandfather of the current owner, established the winery. A lifelong farmer in Franciacorta, Giovanni aspired to cultivate grapes on his own land to support his family. His passion for viticulture was passed down to his son, Graziano, who took over the family business in 1993. Graziano aimed to create unique wines from their grapes, initially selling them to larger companies in the region. In 2007, his daughter Francesca joined the winery and decided to produce wine from their own grapes. This led to the birth of the first Franciacorta Bonfadini Nobilium Brut DOCG in 2010.

Bonfadini Winery: Cultivating Passion to Create Uniqueness

At Bonfadini, the focus is on three primary grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc. These grapes are used to craft six distinct types of Franciacorta sparkling wines, which have garnered positive reviews both in Italy and abroad. The winery has received numerous awards, reflecting its commitment to quality and excellence. With a goal of producing 200,000 bottles annually, Bonfadini is dedicated to sharing its passion for winemaking.

Celebrating Excellence Through Experience

The Bonfadini vineyard spans 10 hectares, featuring glacial soil rich in morainic stones. These stones absorb heat during the day and release it at night, benefiting grape cultivation. The gravelly soil effectively drains excess water, protecting the roots and enhancing grape quality. In the cellar, wines are aged in oak barrels and steel tanks, combining traditional methods with modern technology to enrich their aromatic profiles.

I came with my boyfriend to the Franciacorta festival. The location is beautiful. Small but modern and well-kept cellar. We tasted all 4 proposals, it's a shame that we didn't find that something extra. The day was well organized, the sandwiches were good.

Having tried many wineries in Franciacorta, I am looking for that something extra that distinguishes a Franciacorta from the others for the better... I must say that here I found that something extra, especially appreciating the theme of the dosage of sugars! All very good wines, each with the characteristics desired by Aurora's mother, a very courteous girl who accompanied us on the visit and aperitif on Saturday. I will definitely make other purchases in the future, congratulations!

A work meeting and the knowledge of an excellent winery managed in a family way by Francesca and her collaborators, all good, smiling and professional. I really liked the Saten. The winery is young and small, but in small barrels .....👏👏👏

Relatively young winery, but their wines are exceptional, pictured here is Aurora, 20 years old, the next generation of owners, Francesca's daughter being the current owner. Super friendly, very friendly and nice.

Couldn't have been better!!! Aurora (in the first photo) was the very best. Aurora made us feel super welcomed from beginning to end and is full of knowledge. Their wines here are 10/10. Exquisite, in fact! Oh, and as winery's go, this might just be the best family run winery yet 😊 Thank you Aurora (your knowledge & English is excellent!). Oh, and Olivia, you are heart melting too 🐕❤️
