A Charming Organic Winery Nestled in Lombardy's Scenic Hills

Located between the enchanting hills of Pozzolengo and Solferino in Lonato, Perla del Garda is a vibrant winery situated in the certified Lugana DOC region, close to the stunning Lake Garda. Surrounded by lush vineyards, this estate is dedicated to producing high-quality wines using a unique gravity-flow winemaking technique. The winery's white wines are particularly noteworthy, capturing the true essence of the local terroir.

A Legacy of Winemaking Passed Down Through Generations

Founded in 2000 by siblings Giovanna and Ettore Prandini, Perla del Garda reflects their deep passion for wine and commitment to traditional production methods. The winery released its first bottle in 2006, and since then, it has embraced modern techniques to craft a diverse range of wines, including Lugana DOC, Lugana Superiore DOC, and Lugana Spumante DOC. The winery features a two-story structure, where red grape fermentation and white grape pressing occur on the upper level, while steel tanks are utilized on the lower floor.

Fertile Terroirs and Ideal Climate for Exceptional Vines

Spanning 48 hectares of land south of Lake Garda, Perla del Garda's vineyards include 13 hectares of organic cultivation. The estate grows a variety of white grapes, with Trebbiano di Lugana as the flagship, complemented by Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Riesling, and Incrocio Manzoni. For red wines, the vineyard cultivates Rebo and Merlot. For rosé wines we cultivate Rebo, Groppello, Marzemino, Barbera and Sangiovese. Grapes are hand-harvested and transported to the cellar for gentle pressing and fermentation. The Prandini siblings age their wines in large tanks and wooden barrels, refining their white, red, rosé, and dessert offerings.

On Sunday morning we went with 10 friends to the pearl of Garda, a modern winery and Mrs. Giovanna explained the whole process from the bunch to the wine making. At the end we went on a picnic to the vineyard with the baskets that they provided us with wine, water, salami and dessert... An experience to repeat, thank you.

We loved the wine tasting and tour - our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of meat and cheese to go with the wine was also incredibly generous sizes. Great value for money and some great wine to taste!

Interesting and informative visit, suitable for users with different levels of knowledge of the world of wine. Praise for Aurora: very competent, kind and friendly. She took us to see the outside and inside of the winery (new and very functional building) accompanying us in each phase of the production of the numerous labels available. In the blink of an eye 45 minutes went by, a fluid and pleasant conversation, full of curiosities and useful details. Tasting of 5 wines chosen based on what was said during the visit and based on our interests, therefore personalized; bread, board of cold meats and cheeses and plenty of water to accompany this magnificent experience. Recommended decisions. Excellent value for money. We will return!

We visited 24 September 2024. Our vist was very enjoyable. Lovely wine - red, rose, white and bubbles - in a charming setting. The man tasting wine with us was most kind. The workers had just completed the harvest - a great success. They celebrated with their own fine bubbly white wine and the man guiding our tasting was kind enough to share some with us. He had guests at several tables tasting wine and he bounced from table to table, in German there, English with us, Italian with others, all with kindnes and an impressive ability to explain their winemaking. Good place. Great people and tasty wine.

A spacious and bright structure, immersed in the estate's vineyards, from which you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. The passionate Aurora guided us among the barrels and introduced us to the scents and aromas of the wine from this part of Lake Garda. The collection of vintage motorbikes on display in the large entrance hall is surprising. A great experience!

Love this place and the wine. It is exquisite. Every time I come to this area for business I have to pickup a few bottles to take home to the US to share with family and friends. Everyone always asked where they can buy it.

I highly recommend this winery both for the quality of the products and for spending a few hours outdoors tasting excellent wines. The picnic among the vineyards is a beautiful and regenerating experience, which helps to appreciate even more the wines and the passion of those who produce them. The beauty of the place is enhanced by the family welcome of the owner and those who work in this company: love for the territory, the continuous search to improve sustainability and products, serious and passionate work, attention to every detail. An unforgettable experience and certainly one to repeat.
